The United States Department of State offers invaluable resources to American travelers abroad and has created a website dedicated to American college students studying abroad: www.studentsabroad.state.gov. As you prepare for your program, and while you are abroad, check their website for the most up-to-date information including travel and safety tips, warnings, alerts, and country-specific updates. Some of the resources you'll find there include:

  • STEP Enrollment Program to register with the nearest U.S. Embassy
  • Country-specific conditions and travel warnings/alerts
  • Travel and travel safety tips
